Abstract

This poster by student employee Paul Steele documents his work during the summer of 2016 as a participant in the Discovery Park Undergraduate Research Internship (DURI) program.  Paul was tasked over a ten week period to overhaul how BLASTer handles output files and to improve the user experience of working with the output files.  This poster showcases work to add support for new output file formats, better merging of output results from many smaller tasks into one download for users, and visualization to help users better explore these results.  He presented this poster at the conclusion of the 2016 program at an event with all DURI students.
